My name is Dr. Gregor Pittl, and I am pleased to welcome you to my private specialist practice in the heart of Innsbruck, established in July 2023.
My journey to independent practice was shaped by intensive, international training and a deep commitment to scientifically-founded orthopedics. With enthusiasm and many years of experience, I am dedicated daily to helping you maintain or regain your joy of movement.
My Career Path
Before opening my own practice, I worked for ten years at the University Hospital for Orthopedics in Innsbruck, serving in a responsible position as a senior physician for the last few years. This time in a university environment sharpened my perspective on complex clinical pictures and enabled me to practice state-of-the-art surgical procedures and conservative therapies at the highest level.
My training took me through Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. Today, I combine this knowledge in my daily work as:

Specialties
A particular focus of my work is foot surgery. Through certification from the German Association for Foot and Ankle (D.A.F.) and numerous international advanced training courses, I have specialized in the treatment of deformities such as hallux valgus. I also offer specialized, multimodal therapy concepts for chronic conditions such as Achilles tendinopathy (Achilles tendon pain) or plantar fasciitis (heel spur). Here, you benefit from my expertise in high-energy shockwave therapy and close collaboration with orthopedic technicians.
Pediatric Orthopedics & Prevention
The health of our youngest patients is particularly close to my heart. Through my many years of work in the pediatric team at the Innsbruck Clinic and as the holder of the ÖÄK Certificate for Infant Hip Examination, I have extensive experience in hip sonography. It is a personal concern of mine to optimally support your child’s development through precise preventive examinations (Mutter-Kind-Pass).
Conservative Therapy & Innovation
My guiding principle is to avoid operations whenever possible. Therefore, I increasingly rely on effective conservative methods:
- Manual Medicine: Gentle treatment of blockages and functional disorders.
- Shockwave Therapy: Targeted healing impulses for chronic pain and scars.
- Magnetic Field Therapy: From 2025, this modern form of therapy will complement my spectrum to promote natural healing processes.

Expert Witness Activity
As a court-sworn expert in orthopedics and orthopedic surgery, I prepare expert opinions on and after injuries or diseases of the musculoskeletal system for court proceedings, arbitration proceedings, insurance companies, and public authorities.
